Back in November, KAYTRANADA blessed his fans with his Intimidated three-pack EP. Although each song expertly showcased his wonderful talent, the title track featuring H.E.R. immediately became the stand-out fan favorite. The two just joined forces over the weekend to deliver a live performance version of the track as they paid a visit to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” On the title and intro track, H.E.R. angelically rides the blissful beat courtesy of KAYTRANADA:

Open water, just what you wanted (Just what you wanted) so don’t leave me drownin’/ Don’t let me, down don’t, don’t hold it back like that just pull me closer, baby/ Hold on, love, let’s make the most of this before it’s over, over

Don’t, time, don’t wanna waste the feel, like we can make it real/ Don’t run away when you could be lovin’ me/ Signs, too busy readin’ minds hopin’ you made it here/ Don’t overthink when you could be lovin’ me/ (Babe, when you could be lovin’ me) (Babe, when you could be lov-)

The aformentioned EP also included “Be Careful” featuring Thundercat, and “$payforhaiti” featuring Mach-Hommy to close his year out strong. Also recently, KAYTRANADA shared a remix of Normani fan-favorite track “Wild Side.” He started off his year last year with a bang when he took home the Grammy win for his “10%” track featuring Kali Uchis.

Last year, H.E.R. released her official debut LP Back of My Mind, which boasts some of her previously released cuts like “Damage,” “Come Through” with Chris Brown, “Hold On,” and “Slide” with YG. H.E.R.’s last full-length project before that was 2019’s I Used To Know Her. The 19-track compilation included features from DJ Scratch, YBN Cordae, and Bryson Tiller.
