Back in December, sports drama film National Champions officially hit the big screen, which stars Stephan James, J.K. Simmons, and Uzo Aduba. It centers on a college quarterback to decided to hold a players’ strike just prior to an important game. Eagle-eyed viewers of the film’s trailer also caught a cameo appearance from French Montana, who will appear as himself — in addition to busting out some acting chops, the NYC star has also contributed to the soundtrack with “If I Go Down.”
Over the weekend, the official visual for the track became available in full for fans to enjoy. The Breyan Isaac-produced offering matches the overall plot with bars about knowing your value and standing your ground if said value isn’t being met:
What is your price? (Woo) What would it cost to toss all your morals aside? (Yeah)/ Piece of the pie (Hey, hmm), somethin’ foreign to drive? (Skrrt) What would you put on the line? (Yeah)/ They say they can guarantee all the money you need/ If you trade in your soul first (Trade in your soul)
When the money and ego bring out the evil in people, what is your soul worth? (What it’s worth?)/ Let us pray (Yeah), father forgive ’em ’cause they do not know what they’ve done (Know what they’ve done)/ Came from the bottom
Last month, French Montana unleashed his brand new album They Got Amnesia. Equipped with 20 records in total, French Montana tapped on a number of his peers for features including Drake, John Legend, Rick Ross, Doja Cat, Saweetie, Fabolous, and more. In addition to They Got Amnesia was a short film that mainly documented French‘s well-known hospitalization a couple of years ago.
