Skillibeng continues to show why he’s currently one of music’s brightest stars. Last week, he unveiled a new single titled “Powerful,” a Rvssian-backed effort that — as the title suggests — sees the Jamaican talent reaffirming his well-deserved fame and success:
“We so powerful, I am legend, pursue my happiness, I’ve been prominent, ain’t no accident, I’m so confident, ain’t nobody ‘pon mi level, if yuh ask now, dem will tell yuh, East Syde feature biter than Beasles, yuh know mi a star from mi eleven, nuh sekkle, mi ah bet yuh big heads haffi welcome, Calinians, firemens, latency year dem, but where dem is near endin’, Bay trendin’, but nah see trеnd settin’, East Syde is aimin’ for excеllence…”
“Powerful” is accompanied by a matching video that sees the East Syde representative delivering his bars from his St. Thomas stomping grounds. The clip also catches other locals throughout, including a few that can be spotted dancing to the infectious offering.
A couple of months prior saw Skillibeng unveiling his Crocodile Teeth LP, a continuation of his wildly successful hit single that contains 12 cuts and additional contributions from Stefflon Don, Popcaan, Rich The Kid, Spice, Davianah, Lil Zack, and Bobby Shmurda. Prior to that, fans were able to enjoy a wealth of loose drops and collaborations from Skillibeng, including “Money Tree,” “Grade 1,” “Internet War,” “Soso Badniss,” “Time With You” with Laza Morgan, “Mission,” “East Syde” with Quenga and F.S., and “Wollan” with Unknown T. Back in May, he dropped off The Prodigy: Ladies Only Edition, which contained 21 songs and notable contributions from Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, Honey Milan, Shotta G, Projexx, and more. Hopefully, Skillibeng’s musical output will only continue to increase once we enter into the new year.
