This past Halloween, K Koke made a huge return with new album I Ain’t Perfect, a 13-track body of work that saw additional features from Bounty Killer, Ambush Bussworl, Jaja Soze, Mike GLC, SAS, and more. Presumably, the LP serves as a reimagining of Koke’s 2013 project of the same name, which was released via his past partnership with Roc Nation saw contains high-level collaborations alongside Rita Ora, Bridget Kelly, Maverick Sabre, and Wale.
Following previous visuals for “6 & 10” and “We Da Ops” comes another for “Blokka,” the Ambush-assisted offering that sees production from Jaykebeats and JRocs. As expected, the two emcees waste no time getting busy with street-oriented subject matter:
“I can’t even lie dog, I can’t leave my dog, I don’t even live talk, hit him with that night spark, sittin’ there in white chalk, lookin’ like some fire art, busy ‘cause I grind hard … dripped in designer, spliff in the grinder, whip got recliners, stick wit’ the rider, slip, then we find ya, send a hit from my Leica, get pitched when we drive past, ‘cause these dickheads ain’t like us…”
Directed by Chas Appeti, the accompanying clip for “Blokka” sees a dappered up Koke performing near a tower block while showing off a brightly colored BMW i8. Once day turns into night, he links up with Ambush and mobs heavy with their respective crews in the streets.
During a recent sit-down with Arnold Jorge for GRM Daily’s “Front Row” series, Koke revealed that he has more than enough music sitting in his vault for future releases:
“I got four albums, four fresh, unheard albums, I got over a hundred songs that no one ain’t heard. Lockdown done me good. … I was in my bag.”
