Nakkia Gold has tapped in with DDG to present their own twist on a Christmas anthem. The duo released “Trap Santa” earlier this week as their way of spreading holiday cheer. Over some production courtesy of Prince Fox and Beeja, the two paint the tale of the jolliest man on earth from the street life perspective:
Trap Santa pulling up in a Phantom, from the North Pole, flew in from Atlanta/ Country grammar like he from Alabama, he substitute the reindeer for black panthers/ Santa gon’ make it rain, Santa gon’ make it snow
Santa got seven elves, but he got plenty hoes (ho, ho, ho)/ Santa like Christmas trees, Santa like cookie dough, trap Santa, trap trap Santa/ Christmas coming early for me this year, hop up in the slay and put that thing into gear/
Best known for her acclaimed song “JUSTICE (GET UP, STAND UP)” featuring GRAMMY and Golden Globe, Award-nominated artist Wiz Khalifa, Bob Marley and The Wailers, Nakkia Gold is a singer and songwriter to emerge from South Los Angeles. Also this year, she dropped off her “Pretty Girl Habits” single along with her three-pack that included tracks “Real,” “Yea Yea,” and “3 Rounds.”
DDG has kept his fans fed all year long with loose cuts like “Lusted,” “If I Go Broke,” “Midwest Flow,” and “Rucci” with all of them arriving with accompanying visuals to match. DDG joined his fellow peers a few months ago as he landed a slot on the XXL Freshmen list for 2021. Since then, he’s kept his momentum going strong shortly after that, dropping off visuals for tracks like “No Kizzy” and joining 2KBABY for “Zack & Cody.” Back in March, DDG tapped in with super-producer OG Parker to be his co-pilot for a joint EP titled Die 4 Respect.
