DDG is keeping his 2021 momentum strong. After repping his city on his recent track “Midwest Flow” just last month, he returns this week to drop off another single “Lusted.” The freshly released cut comes paired with a visual that follows the rising star through a night after experiencing betrayal. On the song, DDG delivers some regret-filled bars as he comes face to face with disloyalty:
My heart cold, I don’t know what real love is, hurt my soul when I found out you lusted/ Grab your phone, did my scroll, now you busted/ You told me you want me as your husband, don’t trust nothin’, they betrayed me, I hate that/ You assuming, I don’t, I state straight facts
All that cash spent on you, I’m gon’ make backGot my mind movin’ fast like a race track (Oh)/ Oh, I know you love me, too (Love me too), come through and fuck once just to tease you (Tease you)/ And I hope you never thinkin’ that I need you (That I need you)
Just few weeks ago, DDG joined his fellow peers as he landed a slot on the XXL Freshmen list for 2021. Since then, he’s kept his momentum going strong, dropping off visuals for tracks like “No Kizzy” and joining 2KBABY for “Zack & Cody.”
Back in March, DDG tapped in with super-producer OG Parker to be his co-pilot for a joint EP titled Die 4 Respect. The project was preceded by singles like “Money Long” and “Rule #1” with Yachty, and he continued the momentum by dropping off the official visual for the Coi Leray-assisted “Impatient” and the Tyla Yaweh-assisted “Hakuna Matata.” D4L is equipped with 11 songs and a dope roster of features from names like Coi Leray, YoungBoy NBA, PnB Rock, and more.
