Back in August, Belly unveiled his third studio LP See You Next Wednesday, which contains 15 tracks from the Canadian star and additional contributions from The Weeknd, Young Thug, Moneybagg Yo, Gunna, PnB Rock, Nas, NAV, Lil Uzi Vert, Big Sean, and Benny The Butcher. The project has already seen top tier visuals for “Money On The Table,” “Zero Love,” “Better Believe,” “Die For It” and “Requiem” — today (Nov. 18), Belly adds to that with another top-quality clip for “Flowers,” which sees him contemplating an early demise and looking to receive his well-deserved accolades before that happens:
“I don’t wanna die young, I don’t wanna be a stat’, I don’t wanna relapse, I just need to smoke, where the weed at? I just need to relax, I don’t need your feedback, I just wanna reflect with my feet up and my seat back, I’ve been feelin’ like an outcast, word to Three Stacks, I won’t be back, I can never let ‘em find out where I sleep at … I might just disappear, give me my flowers while I’m still here…”
Directed by Avteur, the accompanying video takes the viewer through a psychedelic journey, which begins with Belly being driven around in an old school whip. Eventually, Belly is abruptly subdued by a couple of women before laying in a bed of flowers and waltzing through a colorful, trippy landscape — all while shots of someone digging a grave are interspersed throughout.
See You Next Wednesday follows 2018’s Immigrant, Belly’s sophomore album that saw collaborations with the likes of Zack, Meek Mill, Yo Gotti, Metro Boomin, French Montana, and — of course — The Weeknd and NAV over 11 multi-layered cuts. Prior to that, he released the mixtape Mumble Rap, another 11-song body of work with a single assist from Pusha T and executive production handled by Boi-1da.
