A few weeks ago, R&B favorite Lucky Daye unveiled his new “Over” single, and it quickly rose to become a new fan-favorite. He decided to treat fans earlier this week with a live performance visual for the track, which sees a more stripped down version of the already emotional record. In an empty theater, Lucky Daye lets his voice shine as he croons his lyrics into the darkness:
Every time we link up, it’s only us there, we’re thinking will we get there?/ Is it wrong, is it right? You know that I miss you, but I be getting mixed signals/ Why you slow down? Don’t stop this green light
Now you calling me special, when you know I can’t have you/ When I’m on to the next one, oh now you wan’ get aggressive, fuck do you mean? You keep on making believe Nightmares turned into a dream/ If you’re so toxic to me, what am I fiendin’?
The original arrangement of the single features Daye gliding over a string-driven instrumental with a Musiq Soulchild “Halfcrazy” sample. The official music video arrived in September, starring Jordyn Woods.
In terms of other recent collabs from Lucky Daye, he recently joined VanJess for their official remix of “Slow Down” earlier this month. He also appeared on Sinéad Harnett’s sophomore album Ready Is Always Too Late and assisted BJ The Chicago Kid for “Make You Feel Good.” Earlier this year, Lucky Daye released his Table For Two EP, which features assists from Mahalia, Ari Lennox, Queen Naija, and Joyce Wrice. In 2019, Lucky Daye shared his Painted project back in 2019, a featureless project that boasts his mega-hit “Roll Some Mo” and also cuts like “Late Night” and “Karma.” The following year, he added six additional tracks and presented a deluxe version of the project.
