Fans hailed Rihanna as the winner of Halloween this year after the Barbados-born star dressed up as Gunna on Sunday night (Oct. 31). Taking to Instagram, RiRi shared her Gunna-inspired look, which copied his New York Fashion Week outfit from September.
The 33-year-old donned the same tall Rick Owens boots, a see-through black sweater, shorts, leather vest, chains, sunglasses and even held out a joint to replicate Gunna’s signature poses.
Gunna caught wind of the Instagram homage and commented on Rihanna’s post: “Nawww U OVERLY WON.” Rihanna also earned praise from Yung Miami, who commented, “Why I’m screaming. I love you omg,” along with several laughing emojis. Lakeyah added, “U won.”
While RiRi spent her Halloween dressing up as Gunna, the ANTI singer is of course a fashion icon in her own right. Shortly after debuting her Halloween costume on Instagram, Rihanna teased her next Savage X Fenty slate by modeling the lingerie for her followers.
As reported by REVOLT, the first Savage X Fenty stores are expected to pop up across the U.S. next year, marking a transition for the currently online-only retailer. Christiane Pendarvis, the company’s chief marketing and design officer, confirmed to Business Insider that physical stores will “absolutely” be opening next year, adding that “fit and comfort are so important” and not all customers “feel comfortable purchasing online.” Pendarvis did not disclose where the stores will be located, but added that the retailer is also eyeing potential cities in Europe.
In September, Rihanna held the third edition of her Savage X Fenty fashion show, which streamed on Amazon Prime. The show featured performances by Nas, Daddy Yankee, BIA, Jazmine Sullivan, Ricky Martin, Normani and Jade Novah; with additional appearances by Adriana Lima, Erykah Badu, Gigi Hadid, Troye Sivan, Vanessa Hudgens and more.
