There’s nothing wrong with a little friendly banter! Just ask Freddie Gibbs. The lyricist behind the Grammy-nominated Alfredo recently came across a recent post from Big Sean, and he’s been having a field day ever since.
On Thursday night (Oct. 21), while promoting the new single “What A Life,” the Detroit emcee took to social media to share a picture from the set of the song’s visual. In the photo, he’s seen sitting down as thousands of bees, 65,000 of them to be exact, perched all over his body. “WHAT A LIFE OUT NOW! Video out now!!!” he wrote on Instagram at midnight.
“In the song, I said 100 B’s, but it was really 65,000 bees on me,” noting that the image was “not photoshopped.” “I just ain’t want y’all to think it was some damn effects or some shit.”
Hours after sharing the post with his fans, it grabbed the attention of Gibbs, who hopped on Twitter to poke fun at Sean. “Niggaz get rich and bored and start doing dumb shit D’Fuck,” he wrote. In a second tweet, he joked that the “Bounce Back” star thinks he is “candy man” before following up with another post. “Man I gotta get so rich, I let bees sting me in the dick,” he teased.
Gibbs appeared to be in a good mood as he made fun of the Detroit native, who hasn’t yet responded to the posts. As REVOLT previously reported, Wale was also the butt of his antics as the Indiana star humorously claimed that he was taken off Folarin II. “ So my shit wasn’t good enough to be on your shit? I don’t rap good enough? Well I’ma show you how good I rap,” he said plugging in his forthcoming and possibly his final album, SSS.
The MMG lyricist clarified that his collaboration with Gibbs didn’t make the final cut because the sample wasn’t cleared on time.
