Back in August, G Perico delivered his latest project Play 2 Win, which saw 11 tracks and contributions from 03 Greedo, Remble, and BlueBucksClan. The release was also led by the singles “Spazz” and “5 Freeway.” Earlier this week, the South Central star liberated another video from Play 2 Win for “The Interview,” which, as the title suggests, sees Perico in a “sit down” with Cali journalist Domo Jones, creating a dope back-and-forth about his life:
“We ain’t waiting on no niggas, boy, we gettin’ straight to action, one thing that I done learned about myself is that I’m crafty, one thing that I done learned about the streets is that they tricky, out the window with the drum, make you run, just like Ricky…”
The clip matches the song perfectly, beginning with a cozily-dressed Perico sitting down opposite Jones for her television show. Every “answer” to a question, switches to different scenes, including Perico showing earlier times on a live stream to more lavish circumstances with high-end cars, cash, an what looks like a new liquor under the rapper’s popular Blue Tshirt brand. The latter part of the video turns from an interview to a dope performance, giving off vibes reminiscent of classics like “The Queen Latifah Show.”
A week prior to “The Interview,” Perico also dropped off another top tier clip for “Sin Again,” a Sorry Jaynari and Jaywavy-produced effort that sees him telling stories of lost loved ones:
“Man I miss my nigga, anytime he was trippin’, I was trippin’ wit’ him, got put on the gang, now i’m Crippin’ wit’ him, when he died, it’s like a part of me has went wit’ him, from the cradle to the grave, from the streets to the halls, YA to the state, me and my nigga thuggin’, can’t nothin’ come between us, no bitch, no money…”
