Friends and peers of Snoop Dogg are paying homage to the rapper, who is celebrating another trip around the sun. The Los Angeles star, who has been entertaining fans for nearly three decades, turned 50 years old today (Oct. 20). He’s since been the recipient of social media tributes from Diddy, Swizz Beatz, Ice-T, Monica and more.
On Snoop’s special day, Bow Wow took some time to show love to the emcee, who gave him his first opportunity to perform on a big stage and gifted him with his early moniker, Lil Bow Wow. “Happy born day to my uncle @SnoopDogg,” he wrote alongside a picture of them on stage. “The greatest to do it! I love you unc. FOR LIFE.”
In Jermaine Dupri’s post, he called the “Beautiful” star “the biggest dog of ‘em all,” while Fat Joe’s birthday message to Snoop included a request for God to shower his “brother” with blessings. “There’s never been a bigger heart in hip hop,” wrote Joey Crack. “God bless our brother @snoopdogg. Happy birthday king. Love you.”
50 Cent, whose friendship led to Snoop’s current role on STARZ’s “Black Mafia Family” series, tweeted, “Happy C Day to my man @SnoopDogg. Wishing you many more.”
Even Martha Stewart shared a few loving words to the “other half” of her VH1 show “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party.” “There’s no party like a @snoopdogg party!” she wrote. “Happy birthday to the one and only Snoop, the other half of our favorite duo. Bust out the baked goods (brownies, of course) [and] raise a glass (of gin and juice).”
While Snoop Dogg is celebrating a milestone birthday, he shares the day with Lil Durk, who turns 29 years old, and A$AP Ferg, who is officially 33 years old.
