Just before 2021 arrived, it was announced that E-40, Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, and Ice Cube would be joining forces to create MOUNT WESTMORE, making for one of the biggest supergroups in hip hop to date. Since then, we’ve heard quite a bit of news in regards to what they’ve been cooking up, including the fact that Dr. Dre would be contributing — January also saw the four legends contribute to Nate Parker’s film American Skin with the socially and politically charged “Step Child.”

Today (Oct. 20), fans get to check out MOUNT WESTMORE’s official debut single “Big Subwoofer,” which sees production from Kato and is filled with dope bars about women, (other) vices, and — of course — some serious sound systems for their cars (“Blow the windows out the frame, it’s a party when I pull up”):

“Big subwoofer bouncin’ like a trampoline, glass shake when I roll past the scene, candy apple paint drippin’ classic green, everybody eatin’, you can ask the team, fast and mean, speakers bumpin’, tags is clean, keep me somethin’ to smoke on, bad bitch to poke on, bass hit like a earthquake, you niggas hold on, I hit the block and roll on…”

The accompanying clip for “Big Subwoofer” comes courtesy of Jesse Wellens and Sam Macaroni, and looks like 40, Snoop, Short, and Cube took some inspiration from top tier films like Star Wars and Guardians of the Galaxy. The emcees are seen riding around space in a bass-equipped starship, hanging with alien eye candy on distant planets, and more — Snoop’s Mandalorian-esque uniform almost single-handedly makes the entire video entertaining on its own.
