The idea of fathers doing anything to protect their daughters is one of the oldest truisms around, and that’s something Jamie Foxx reminded folks of in a recent interview.
In a Thursday (Oct. 14) episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Foxx, who starred in Disney and Pixar’s Soul in 2020, recalled a time he got Snoop Dogg to try and scare his daughter’s boyfriend.
“My daughter, who didn’t know I had already run a background check on her boyfriend, he comes to the crib and Snoop happens to be there. And I said, ‘Snoop, there he is right there. Shake him up,’” Foxx told Fallon. “Snoop just walked over to my daughter’s boyfriend and just said ‘Hey, what’s up? What’s up cuz? You know. Hey, look here. You know. We her uncles, you know what I’m saying? So act accordingly, homie.’”
The actor doesn’t specify whether he’s talking about his daughter Corinne or Anelise, but considering that Anelise is only 12, it seems likely that he’s talking about the former. For his new book, Act Like You Got Some Sense, Foxx discusses being raised by his grandmother and the lessons he’s learned from raising his daughters.
“I wanted to break down the barriers with your daughters because your daughters are going to need you, especially when it comes to guys and relationships,” said the Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! star. “I mean, who else would know better than us? And so by doing it early, which a lot of people frowned on at first, but now it pays dividends when they have really serious questions about guys I’m going to kill.”
Foxx’s new book is set to be released this Tuesday. You can probably expect to read more interesting stories like this one when it’s released. See Foxx tell the hilarious story about Uncle Snoop for yourself just below.
