Rick Ross may be promoting his new book “The Perfect Day to Boss Up: A Hustler’s Guide to Building Your Empire,” but thoughts of his next album are not far from his mind. While a guest on “The Bakari Sellers Podcast,” the “Diced Pineapples” emcee teased the release of his forthcoming Richer Than I’ve Ever Been project, which he claimed will be out by the end of the year.
“Before this year, you’re getting new Rozay,” he said during the Sept. 6 interview. “Really, I feel this is the best album I’ve ever done.”
“I make progress every day,” he explained.
“I feel like some of the stuff I’m saying on this album is really going to separate it from others.”
Ross first made mention of Richer Than I’ve Ever Been in August 2020 and revealed that it would be released months later in January. While teasing the album in November, he broke down the meaning of the project’s title to Haute Living.
“On the surface, some would say, of course, ‘Rozay got the money,’ and that is true — I’m in a better position than I’ve ever been,” he explained. “But it’s much deeper than that…To be richer than you’ve ever been, you have to be connected with yourself more than you ever have. Before you open up and allow someone else to love you, you have to love yourself.”
While there’s still some time before the promo for Ross’ “best album” begins, Rozay has been enjoying Kanye West’s approach to marketing, especially following the release of Donda.
“Kanye has mastered the art of manipulating media and making amazing music,” he told “Today.” “And that combination, it’s no telling where it will go. And I feel like if someone really feels Kanye is insane, they’re crazy.”
