Earlier this month, LION BABE unveiled their latest body of work Rainbow Child, a nine-track offering with additional features from Ghostface Killah, Siimbiie Lakew, OSHUN, and Trinidad James. Just before this past weekend, the duo consisting of Jillian Hervey and Lucas “Astro Raw” Goodman released a new visual from said project for “Going Through It,” which sounds like an ode to mental health in the face of today’s chaos:

“Hard to sleep, no one has enough, bang bang, tweet tweet, isn’t natural, pain and mercy goin’ back and forth, up against the wall, insatiable, hard to say when we lost control, continue to seek the invisible, look at that ahead, ahead … I’m goin’ through it, we’re goin’ through it, oh, try not to lose it, we’re gonna do it, what you say?”

Directed by both LION BABE and Charlotte Sclapari, the accompanying clip for “Going Through It” is mainly centered around Hervey and Goodman in a room with a sunset-esque background — both are topless, having been completely painted by Ashleigh “The Virgin Artiste” Alexandria. All-in-all, it’s a beautiful match to the vibe, one that will probably spawn more than a few different interpretations.

In a recent interview with REVOLT, Hervey spoke on how she and Goodman built their musical chemistry over time — she also revealed how it was healthy for them to also find some time as individuals:

“I think I inherently am a people pleaser because you want to make the people around you feel comfortable. There became a moment when we knew we needed to take space from each other and not do this every single day, so we can come back and know what was up. … That’s helped us be more honest with ourselves and create more effectively.”
