King Von fights an inner “Demon” in new posthumous video

The track appears on his ‘Welcome To O’Block’ project from last year.

King Von’s birthday and legacy were both honored yesterday (Aug 9) with brand new music video “Demon” that was released on the late artist’s behalf. The new visual is co-directed by Joan Pabon and DrewFilmedIt and takes viewers through a tragic storyline that brings Von’s lyrics to life. On the song, King Von delivers a vivid play-by-play of a heart-wrenching event:

If I tell I love you, I mean it (I mean it), Whitey got killed, I seen it/ I was right there, still can’t believe it (Damn), shit turned me to a demon/ Police ask me, I ain’t seen nun’ (Uh-uh) back to back hits like a rerun (Boom)/

Me and T.Roy was schemin’/ I’m tryna put my whole team on, if I tell I love you, I mean it (I mean it)/ Whitey got killed, I seen it, I was right there, still can’t believe it (Damn)/ Shit turned me to a demon (Yeah), police ask me, I ain’t seen nun’

Late last year in November, King Von revealed his latest project Welcome To O’Block, a 16-track album that saw additional assists from Polo G, Lil Durk, Prince Dre, Dreezy, Moneybagg Yo, and Fivio Foreign. The project proved to be a success for the Chicago emcee, peaking at number 5 on the Billboard 200. Tragically, Von wasn’t able to celebrate his most recent accomplishment — he was killed in Atlanta a mere week after Welcome To O’Block’s release.

Joan Pabon of Blank Square Productions was the last director to work with King Von and recently REVOLT caught up with him to discuss what was truly special about the new “Demon” music video and the late artist:

“That is what King Von was thorough with: his storytelling. It was only right that we put together a short film to match the storyline. The song was already properly executed, we just had to add the icing on the cake honestly. We just wanted the viewers to actually feel it. And if you notice at the end, we added Von’s voice and you can hear him giving details on how he wanted it done so that gave more feeling, as well.”
