Isaiah Rashad is stoking fan excitement after sharing the tracklist for his upcoming album, The House Is Burning. The TDE rapper’s sophomore LP is set to drop this Friday (July 30) and will feature Lil Uzi Vert, Smino, 6LACK, his labelmates SZA, Jay Rock and more. According to his social media posts, producers Kat Banks, Hollywood Cole, Devin Malik and more will also handle the album’s beats.
Fans reacted to the tracklist on Twitter, with many of them excited to hear “Score” with SZA and 6LACK.
“We really getting a song with Isaiah Rashad, SZA, and 6LACK this Friday this seems too good to be true,” one person tweeted.
“Isaiah Rashad album that’s dropping this week has a song featuring SZA and 6LACK omggggg,” another wrote.
“Isaiah Rashad got features from Smino, Lil Uzi & Jay Rock but most importantly a song with SZA & 6lack… I can’t wait to hear this album on Friday,” a third tweeted.
Upon its release this Friday, The House Is Burning will mark the official follow-up to Rashad’s debut studio album, The Sun’s Tirade, which peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 in 2016. Earlier this month, the Tennessee native dropped off his single “Wat U Sed” featuring Iamdoechii, which will land on The House Is Burning.
Prior to the album’s release, Rashad spoke with Billboard about the project’s creation and his five-year battle with drug addiction. On Twitter, he previously said all THIB tracks were recorded while he was sober, which he told the outlet “challenged [his] confidence.”
“At first it was hard, but once I had some sessions with Kenny Beats, he taught me some of the methods that he used with Keys and what he seen Young Thug do and how they get comfortable to say whatever’s on their mind,” he explained to Billboard. “Then I worked with my ni**a Kal Banx, and he’s on a good majority on the project — and my homie Henry that my manager put me on to. They gave me the space and time to practice that shit.”
