Lil’ Kim is ready to head to the Verzuz arena and she has an A-list opponent in mind. At the pre-show red carpet for the BET Awards 2021 on Sunday (June 27), the rap legend said she’d be down to be a competitor in the Swizz Beatz and Timbaland-fronted series if she can go up against Nicki Minaj.

When Kim was asked if she would ever do a Verzuz battle on the red carpet, she responded, “Yes.” When she was asked who she would like to battle against, the 9 spitter simply replied, “Nicki.” She added, “I would love to see that.”

The beef between the two rap superstars goes back a decade, but Verzuz has a history of bringing former foes together for an epic night. Yesterday (June 26), hip hop fans were treated to an evening of entertainment and nostalgia as Bow Wow and Soulja Boy went head-to-head.

As reported by REVOLT, the likes of Drake, Lizzo, Omarion, Saweetie, Sean Kingston, Jacquees, Ray J, Zonnique, Brandy, Spectacular, Tyga, Juicy J and more tuned in for the celebratory event and over 500,000 people watched on Instagram.

Unfortunately, one face-off that won’t be happening any time soon is Mary J. Blige and Toni Braxton. On Wednesday (June 23), the official Verzuz Twitter had to dispel the rumors after fans began circulating a fake flyer that advertised an upcoming battle between the two singers.

“Us having to tell people that the Mary J. Blige vs Toni Braxton VERZUZ isn’t real,” they wrote.

Although the Mary J. Blige and Toni Braxton Verzuz battle isn’t happening, the series is sure to host some exciting face-offs in the near future.
