Vanessa Bryant paid tribute to her late husband Kobe Bryant on what marked the second Father’s Day since his death. On Sunday (June 20), the mother of four shared a sweet post on Instagram of Kobe and their daughters.
“To the best girl dad ~ Happy Father’s Day, Papi,” she wrote. “We love you forever and always, always and forever. Love you always, Nani, Gigi, B.B, Koko and VB.”
The touching picture sees Kobe with his four daughters, Natalia, Capri, Bianka and the late Gianna. In a series of other posts, Vanessa celebrated Capri’s second birthday, which was also on Sunday.
“Happy 2nd Birthday, Capri! Mommy, Daddy, Nani, Gigi and B.B. love you so much! You are our beautiful ray of light,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for bringing so much joy and love into our lives. May you be blessed with many more happy, healthy and wonderful birthdays. We love you Koko-Bean! Happy birthday!!!!”
Sunday was sadly the second Father’s Day since Kobe and Gianna passed away in a Calabazas, California helicopter crash. Besides the NBA superstar and 13-year-old, Payton Chester, Sarah Chester, Alyssa Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, John Altobelli, Christina Mauser and pilot Ara Zobayan were also killed in the Jan. 26, 2020 crash.
Earlier this year, Vanessa spoke with PEOPLE for the magazine’s Women Changing the World issue about how her life has changed since the tragedy.
“I can’t say that I’m strong every day. I can’t say that there aren’t days when I feel like I can’t survive to the next,” she told the outlet. “This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward. Lying in bed crying isn’t going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again. But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that’s what I do.”
