Lil Reese has broken his silence after he and two others were shot near a Chicago parking garage last weekend.
On Thursday (May 20), the 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Tavares Lamont Taylor, took to Snapchat to shut down rumors about the shooting. “I’m good,” he wrote. “I’m not blind or shit. Don’t believe what you seeing on [the] internet. I don’t even kno where tf they getting all these fake ass stories from.”
The following day, Reese took to Twitter to send another message. “Errtime I feel like my back against the wall I come out in better position so I ain’t tripping,” he tweeted.
As REVOLT previously reported, the Chicago emcee was shot in his hometown on May 15. According to reports, the incident started after a 55-year-old man tracked down his stolen vehicle and attempted to take the truck from the men who were inside — including Lil Reese.
Shortly after, gunshots began to ring out and a scuffle ensued. Authorities found numerous shell casings at the scene and multiple weapons were found inside the stolen Dodge Durango. Lil Reese reportedly told authorities that he was only there to purchase marijuana.
The Lamron 1 emcee reportedly suffered an injury to his eye and was shot in the knee twice, but has since been listed in stable condition.
This marks the second time that Lil Reese has been shot in the past 18 months. In Nov. 2019, he was critically wounded when a man shot him in the neck with an AK-47 assault rifle in the Country Club Hills area of Illinois.
Fortunately, he survived and posted about the encounter on his Instagram account. “Made 4 it Life’s a gamble I got hella luck,” he captioned a photo revealing stitches over his throat.
