Lil Reese was among three people shot Saturday (May 15) at a parking garage in downtown Chicago, according to Chicago police and Chicago news public safety outlet CWB Chicago.
CWB is reporting that police responded to calls of shots fired near a River North parking garage just before 10 a.m. A police spokesperson told the news site that a group of men were “all shooting at each other.”
When law enforcement arrived on the scene they found three men with gunshot wounds, a CPD report stated. Police also found a stolen and recently crashed Dodge Durango riddled with bullet holes.
Reese, born Tavares Taylor, and two others were transported to nearby hospitals. Two of the victims are reportedly in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, while the other is in serious condition at Stroger Hospital.
Unfortunately, this is the second time the Glory Boyz Entertainment rapper has been shot in the last 18 months. In Nov. 2019, Reese was critically wounded when a man shot him in the neck with an AK47 assault rifle in the Country Club Hills area of Illinois.
At the time, WGN-9 reported that Reese was involved in a dangerous car chase. The individual who was pursuing him eventually caught up to him and shot him with a rifle, before fleeing the scene. Luckily, the 28-year-old rapper survived and posted about the experience on his Instagram account. “Made 4 it Lifes a gamble I got hella luck,” he captioned a photo showing stitches over his throat. He offered to tell the story to the first publication that offered him $1 million.
Cryptically, Reese posted a screen shot of his “last interview of the year” in his IG stories. Within the interview, which was shot by Mile High Minute, Reese talked about signing to Def Jam and growing up in Chicago. He also explained that the title of his latest EP Lamron 2 is normal spelled backwards. The four-track project was released on SoundCloud on April 23.
