Earlier this month, Tee Grizzley released his third studio LP Built For Whatever, which saw 19 tracks with features from the late King Von, Quavo, Young Dolph, YNW Melly, Lil Durk, Lil Tjay, G Herbo, Big Sean, Baby Grizzley, and more. In addition to the full-length body of work, Grizzley has also liberated high quality music videos for “Late Night Calls,” “White Lows Off Designer,” and “Built To Last.” This week, fans get to check out another from said project for “Quit Trappin,” a Helluva Beats-produced cut that sees the Detroit emcee rapping about his hustle before the fame:

“I was like thirteen, saw my uncle trappin’, pulled him to the side, told him, ‘Show me how to bag it,’ he like, ‘When you get that money, nigga, stack it,’ he gave me that bag, I jumped in traffic, and my grandma like, ‘Quit runnin’ out my house, lil’ boy, you in or out?’

I pulled out them racks, give her a stack, after that I ain’t hear her mouth, granddad wasn’t fuckin’ with it, I’m like, ‘Granddad, hear me out, ain’t nobody gon’ give us shit, go on ‘head, let me get this shit…’”

The accompanying clip for “Quit Trappin” comes courtesy of Krispy Kam, and quickly turns into a family affair. Following the song’s lyrics, Grizzley enters a kitchen and convinces his uncle to include him in on business matters, much to the chagrin of his grandparents. Elsewhere, Grizzley presumably makes necessary moves via a laptop, and counts stacks of money with another presumed family member. Simply put, he’s getting to the money by any means — something that he’s done since his days as a youth.
