Bay Area rapper Mike Darole was reportedly shot and killed during a botched robbery in California on Saturday (May 15).
According to multiple reports, the emcee was shot while walking his dog outside of his home. The suspects attempted to rob Darole, but a fight began. The gunman shot multiple rounds and struck the 29-year-old six times. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, but the doctors were not able to save him.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for his children. So far, almost $18,000 has been raised out of the $20,000 goal.
“Michael had a contagious laugh and smile and always wanted to see the people around him happy,” the GoFundMe read. “His passion for his music and lyrics made him loved and adored by his many thousands of fans across the world. Michael was a loving father who always made sure that his children were provided for and taken care of, they were the light of his world and what kept him motivated to succeed in every career venture that he took; from music to his own clothing line, he did it all for his family. Michael will be deeply missed and his memory will live forever.”
Darole, formerly known as M.I.C., used to be in several hip hop groups, including N3w Era and The League, during the mid-2000s. His 2009 debut single “Baby” garnered over four million views on YouTube.
Back in 2015, Darole was shot multiple times. He took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in a hospital bed after he underwent open-heart surgery to have one of the bullets removed. “I thank the man above for this second chance,” he captioned the post.
The REVOLT team would like to send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. Rest in peace.
