A second person has been indicted on a murder charge for the death of Mo3, according to Dallas County court records. Devin Maurice Brown was charged last Thursday (April 22) in connection to the Dallas rapper’s November death.
Brown, who is currently being held at the Limestone County Jail, was reportedly upset that Mo3 was romantically involved with a woman. He allegedly contacted another witness multiple times before the shooting to ask for the “Everybody” emcee’s exact location. Brown also told authorities that he was angry over a Facebook video that involved Mo3 and a woman.
Records also showed “numerous” calls between Brown and Kewon Dontrell White, the other suspect who was charged with murder, the day before and day of the shooting. Cell phone data placed White near the area where the rapper stayed the night before the shooting and near the scene where he was killed.
When asked about the phone records, White told authorities that the number in question might be his, but said he could not remember his number. He also denied knowing Brown or having any association with him.
Back in November, Mo3 was gunned down while driving on Interstate 35E. His car reportedly crashed into a median during the shooting and he tried to flee the scene on foot. Images provided by the Dallas Police Department showed the gunman, who authorities believe was Brown, chasing after the Shottaz Reloaded rapper while wearing a dark-colored ski mask.
Mo3 was struck by several bullets and rushed to a nearby a hospital where he passed away. Police say the gunman then got back into his car and left the scene. An innocent bystander was also shot during the incident, but only sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Federal gun charges have also been filed against White and Brown. If convicted of the federal charges, Brown faces up to 20 years in federal prison and White faces up to 10 years.
