This past weekend, Big Scarr dropped off his official debut project Big Grim Reaper, a 17-track offering with appearances from Gucci Mane and his New 1017 co-stars Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and Enchanting, among others. Following the new release comes a video for the standout cut “Ballin In LA,” a TP808-produced effort that keeps with the street-oriented lyrics that Scarr is known for:
“Glock in my hand, got the Drac’ on the floor, put that fire on his ass, turned his ass into a post, real street nigga, can’t beef on a post, these niggas lame, trying to beef ‘bout a ho, got it took to every show, hit the stage with my pole/
Woah, fuck a 392, drive the ‘Cat like I’m Joe, I act a fool, do the most, woah, aim for the head, get up close, blow, let’s go, these niggas hate, in they feelings ‘bout hoes…/”
Directed by Todd Uno (and as the song’s title reveals in advance), the accompanying clip shows the rappers enjoying the Los Angeles weather. Gucci and a beautiful woman head shopping while Pooh Shiesty shows off stacks of money in a brightly colored Corvette. Meanwhile, Big Scarr mobs heavy with his crew in a cannabis shop — all sure signs that Guwop’s latest empire is currently one of the most successful
“Ballin In LA” follows previously released visuals for “I Would Keep Goin,” “Traphouse,” “Joe Dirt,” and the well-received “SoIcyBoyz” series. During the same timeframe, Scarr also made appearances on tracks like Roboy’s “1017 Loaded” and K Shiday and Enchanting’s “No Luv,” and was a prominent feature on Gucci Mane’s So Icy Gang, Vol. 1 and So Icy Summer.
