Just like his Paper Route boss Young Dolph, Key Glock has been delivering some of the best music in hip hop over the past year. 2020 saw two full-length releases from the Memphis star
Yellow Tape and Son of a Gun, both of which landed within the top 40 of the Billboard 200 without any features.
Following January’s “Off The Porch” and last month’s “Case Closed” comes another hard-hitting cut titled “I’m The Type,” which sees production from BandPlay and sees Glock flexing about his financial wins:
“Yeah, I’m the type of nigga that pay cash for all my whips, you the type of nigga that’s gon’ trick off onna bitch, I’m the type of nigga that’s gon’ scratch you off the list, yeah, you da type of nigga that’s gon’ throw a rock and snitch/
I’m the type of nigga spent six figures on my wrist, you the type of nigga that be stressin’ ‘bout the rent, I’m the type of nigga, I’m rich but still hit a lick, you the type of nigga get mad your bitch bought my shit/”
Created in-house, the accompanying video matches the tracks energy with shots of Glock in front of what’s presumed to be his residence in front of a fleet of bright yellow high-end whips, including a couple of Mercedes Benzes (including a Maybach), a McLaren, a C8 Corvette, and a Rolls Royce Cullinan — all of which presumably add up to the kind of money that can fund small towns.
Back in 2019, Glock teamed up with Dolph for the joint album Dum and Dummer, a body of work that became his best to date — it landed at the number eight spot of the aforementioned Billboard chart thanks to 45,000 album equivalent units sold.
Press play on “I’m The Type” below. Hopefully, this all means that Key Glock has a new project somewhere on the horizon.
