Last August, Young Dolph liberated his most recent LP Rich Slave, a well-received project that saw 16 cuts and additional features from Megan Thee Stallion, Key Glock, and G Herbo. That body of work landed Dolph within the top five of the Billboard 200 thanks to 65,000 album equivalent units sold in its first week of release. Today, he upgrades Rich Slave with a deluxe edition, which adds eight additional songs and a couple of new assists from Glock and fellow Paper Route artist Kenny Muney.
One standout from Rich Slave (Deluxe) is the BandPlay-produced cut “No Regrets,” which sees Dolph getting transparent on his current challenges as a successful artist:
“Tryna make everybody happy but I can’t, everybody always callin’ my phone never askin’ how I’m doin’ or am I okay, nine times out of ten motherfucker calling me just ask for some bread off of my plate/
Fuck ‘em hang up they face, I don’t want their love it’s fake, every day special feel like it’s my birthday every day I be eating ice cream and cake, why the fuck am i a millionaire still ridin’ ‘round with my drizzy drake…/”
The release of Rich Slave (Deluxe) follows Young Dolph’s visual for the track “Large Amounts,” which saw him showing viewers some of his favorite spots in his hometown of Memphis — including the restaurant Crumpys — while riding around in classic Benzes.
Prior to Rich Slave, Young Dolph teamed up with Key Glock for the joint release Dum and Dummer, a 22-track offering that landed the duo within the top ten of the Billboard 200 with an impressive 45,000 album equivalent units sold in its first week out. Prior to that, Dolph released the solo album Role Model in 2018.
