Last summer, Chloe x Halle liberated their sophomore studio album Ungodly Hour, which saw 13 tracks and additional assistance from Swae Lee, Mike WiLL Made-It, Scott Storch, Sounwave, and more. The project is their highest-charting to date, landing at number 16 on the Billboard 200 — as well as number 11 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums — thanks to 24,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.
Looking to keep the momentum going, the soulful sisters reveal a new video from the project for the title track, a Disclosure-produced effort that’s centered around a woman’s self-worth and choosing actions over words in regards to a certain love interest:
“You know that I, I heard it all before, you’re hesitant, but you could give me more, I know you like to play those silly games, when you’re done, call my name/
When you decide you like yourself, when you decide you need someone, when you don’t have to think about it, love me at the ungodly hour…/”
Directed by Alfred Marroquín, the accompanying clip shows Chloe x Halle on different sets — some of which feature matching choreography from the young talents and their crew of dancers. Add in some sexy and futuristic attire, you have a beautiful finished product that keeps with their Ungodly Hour theme.
Last month, Chloe x Halle took to social media to celebrate their hit single, “Do It,” earning them both a well-deserved Gold certification. A standout from Ungodly Hour, “Do It” also saw a remix featuring appearances from Doja Cat, City Girls, and Mulatto. Outside of music, they also recently announced that they would be judges for Victoria Secret PINK’s third annual PINK with Purpose Project, which gives young contestants a chance to win $25,000 to turn their dreams into reality.
