In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, Chloe x Halle are bringing their sultry voices to our living rooms today (Mar. 24).
The “Grown-ish” duo is performing on their Instagram Live as a part of Global Citizen’s: “Together At Home” concert series. The show kicks off today at 1 pm PT (4 pm EST) on their official Instagram account.
Yesterday, the singers celebrated the two-year anniversary of their debut album The Kids Are Alright. Chloe talked about what the title of the album meant to her in an interview with TIME.
“The title means so much to us; we’re speaking about ourselves as we’re growing into young women, telling ourselves we’re going to be OK,” she said. “We’ll make mistakes and we’ll have obstacles, but we’ll overcome them.”
She continued, “But then also in a general sense, with this generation and how the world has gone mad and all these crazy things that are left for this generation to handle, it’s just proclaiming that we will be alright no matter what, and they shouldn’t worry about us. I love being part of this generation because we’re not afraid to let our voices be heard, and we’re not afraid to speak our mind.”
Global Citizens launched the “Together At Home” concert series in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). The virtual shows aim to unite humanity at a time when they feel alone in their homes during the pandemic. The concert series encourages people to stay home and practice social distancing to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. Other celebrities that have performed under “Together At Home” are Miguel, John Legend, Ziggy Marley, and Common.
