Kid Cudi will remain in his acting bag for quite some time. After taking on a handful of notable roles over the past decade, the “Leader of the Delinquents” rapper is preparing to appear in another film.
According to a report The Hollywood Reporter published Thursday (Feb. 18), the Cleveland emcee will star in horror guru Ti West’s upcoming film, X. The details surrounding the plot are scarce at the moment. So far, the only aspects of the movie that have been made public is that the premise is based on the making of an adult film, and that production will soon begin in New Zealand.
Cudi will star alongside actresses Brittany Snow, who’s known for her role in the Pitch Perfect trilogy, and Jenna Garcia, who played the young Jane in “Jane The Virgin.” With A24 and Bron backing West’s new film, Cudi will also sign on as an executive producer while Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen, Sam Levinson, and Ashley Levinson serve as producers.
The film is just one of numerous projects the rapper-actor is working on. Following his recent roles in HBO’s “Westworld” and Bill & Ted Face The Music, the other half of Kids See Ghost is set to debut his album/film Entergalactic on Netflix in 2022. Not only is he working on upcoming movies, but he’s also creating a new TV series. Last month, Cudi revealed that he had a discussion with 50 Cent to produce a new series.
“Had a call w 50 Cent last week about cookin up a show together,” Cudi tweeted. “Big things happening!! Ill keep u posted. 50 is one of my favorite emcees and he’s also a really great guy w a good heart.”
On the music front, the Republic Records artist recently dropped his long-awaited album Man on the Moon III. With everything he’s got going on, we’ll see if Cudi delivers new music in the near future.
