It’s amazing how much social media can change a person’s life for the better. Enter Orlando’s own DJ Amorphous, who has been going viral on the big platforms for his unique mashups of your favorite artists, old and new. Back in November, he revealed one such mashup of Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much” and Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” — simply put, it’s impossible not to start moving to the infectious, reimagined groove. Bronx legend Fat Joe apparently agrees, because he connected with Amorphous to create his new single “Sunshine (The Light),” which was first premiered via D-Nice on his Instagram Live account.

Co-produced by DJ Khaled and Cool & Dre, Fat Joe uses the infectious track to re-affirm his status in the game:

“Crack man it don’t matter the game, silk shirts and a couple chains, I go deeper and deeper, sign the prenup, you know it’s cheaper than keep her, crack work in the two-seater, put you in Milan, you can kick your feet up…/”

The track sees a lavish visual courtesy of Ivan Berrios, which begins with Fat Joe toasting his successes with Khaled, Dre, and Diddy. The clip continues with the Terror Squad boss partying with his peers and a bevy of beautiful women on a yacht, with Amorphous handling music duties from behind the turntables.

“Sunshine (The Light)” follows 2019’s Family Ties, Fat Joe’s joint project with Dre that saw 11 cuts and additional features from Jeremih, Bryson Tiller, Cardi B, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Lil Wayne, and more. A couple of years prior to that, he teamed up with long-time collaborator Remy Ma for Plata O Plomo, which saw assists from the likes of French Montana, Sevyn Streeter, The-Dream, and BJ The Chicago Kid and spawned the runaway hit single “All The Way Up.”
