It’s no secret that Diddy is loaded with anecdotes from his nearly three-decade long career. While some stories are common knowledge, REVOLT’s chairman recently shared some exclusive information while on DJ Khaled’s “The First One” podcast.

As the “Last Night” emcee conversed with Khaled, he revealed that he was originally supposed to be a feature on Junior M.A.F.I.A’s “Get Money (Remix).”

“The real story is the Junior M.A.F.I.A. remix, I was supposed to be on that. That’s what Biggie wrote for me, and to be honest, I couldn’t. It intimidated me. I went in there and tried to do it,” he said.

The Bad Boy star compared his experience rapping a Big verse at the time to a rookie playing basketball with a veteran like Chris Paul. “I”m not comparing Chris Paul to Biggie,” he clarified, “I’m saying the level of difficulty to be able to do what Biggie does…it’s the rhythm…the crossover, all that.”

When he decided he wasn’t ready to rap the Biggie-written verse, the “Been Around the World” hitmaker was sent to work with Mase and the L.O.X. because they “had a slower flow,” hence the creation of the 1997 hit singles “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” and “It’s All About the Benjamins.”

After recording those songs, Diddy said he was finally prepared to execute a verse written by the Brooklyn rapper.

“When I was ready for his flow, that’s when he wrote the ‘Victory’ verse,” he added, referring to his collaboration with Big and Busta Rhymes.

Following his revelation to DJ Khaled, Diddy poked fun at a few podcasters, but promised he has a lot more stories to share.

“Nobody knows none of this. “Drink Champs” and Joe Budden is gonna be mad, but this what they gotta understand…Love is here,” he said. “Joe Budden, N.O.R.E. and my brother Fat Joe, I have so many of these stories…I’m making sure I’m saving a bunch for ya’ll, I don’t want ya’ll to be calling. I’m hitting everybody with a bunch of shit they never heard. I’m just getting shit off my chest, and I’m writing the history books.”
