Like father, like daughter. Young Thug’s daughter is following in her dad’s footsteps and pursuing a rap career. The rapper is assisting his 8-year-old child in making her dreams a reality by giving her the chance to appear on his next album, Slime Language 2. The hitmaker went on an Instagram Live with Mari Mego and he surprised her with the good news that she will be featured on the project that’s due out in 2021.
“The song is fire. I was just calling to congratulate you that you made Slime Language 2. You’re on the album,” the rapper tells his kid. She reacted quickly by looking up and smiling and said, “Are you playing?”
“I love you, too,” Thug said to her. And she said: “I love you, too.” During the live, Thug also asked his daughter what she wants for her birthday. She said she wanted a dog, but that she also wanted a party where she wanted to perform. “I’m going to perform there,” she said. “That’s because I want to rap, and now it’s my chance.” When somebody asked where she was getting the idea from, she said: “Where’s that coming from? Me. You don’t believe in me?”
Mari, who goes by the stage name Mego YSL, has released songs and music of her own prior to this upcoming project. She released her first rap song “They Listen a Lot” last month, and followed it with another track titled, “Do What I Can.” The little one is also getting some major attention on social media,
Thug joins other artists who have included their children in their projects. JAY-Z and Beyoncé have both included daughter Blue Ivy in their songs and music videos. Blue’s appearance on her mom’s music video for “Brown Skin Girl” even helped her land her first Grammy nomination this year. Kanye West has featured his daughter, North West, in his projects as well.
