On Friday (Dec. 11), Keri Hilson surprised fans by posting an Instagram photo exposing her “pregnant belly,” and her name became a trending topic almost instantly.
In the singer’s post, she captured two different angles of her “belly bump,” prompting congratulatory messages from some fellow A-listers. “WAIIIIIIIITTT!!!!!! Keriiii! Sis! Congratulations!!!!! My heart is so full for you,” Meagan Good wrote in the comments.
Fonzworth Bentley welcomed her “to mommy gang” and actress Erika Alexander expressed her shock in a post that read, “OMG. What the?! Congratulations.”
On Twitter, fans and media publications were surprised, but equally excited as they flooded feeds to react to the good news. “Congrats are in order! @KeriHilson is expecting!” VH1’s Twitter account wrote. Another user wrote, “Congratulations Keri Hilson. It’s okay. I can wait another 10 years for the album.”
A few observant fans noticed a detail that many seemed to overlook, one that alluded to an upcoming project. The singer, much like many celebrities, had tagged the names of various accounts and one of the many mentioned companies was Lifetime. Now, it is believed Hilson may be trolling to promote a movie on the television network.
“Keri Hilson had no baby bump on her birthday 5 days ago so ya’ll can calm down,” one user noted. The account @ItsOnSiteTV also sought to make things clear for the vocalist’s fans, tweeting, “In case there was any confusion, Miss Keri Hilson tagged the production company behind her baby bump photo. Will you be tuning in for her TV debut?”
Alongside her Instagram post, Kandi Burruss-Tucker wrote, “I sense a big a movie coming?,” and Porsha Williams also seemed to get the memo as she commented, “Come on actress. I can’t wait for whatever it is.”
Hilson’s “pregnancy” announcement comes after Summer Walker, Cassie, Victoria Monét and Christina Milian announced that they’re expecting. The “Energy” star has not provided any clarification for her followers, but according to IMDB, production for her upcoming film called Don’t Waste Your Pretty wrapped up in August and will premiere in 2021.
