Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s star-studded “WAP” video featured the likes of Normani, Mulatto, Sukihana, Rosalia and Kylie Jenner, but it turns out there was one more person Cardi wished could be on set.
The Invasion of Privacy star revealed she wanted Lizzo to be a part of the visual.
“I’m cool with Lizzo and everything. Like, we’ve been sending DMs to each other and all that,” Cardi told Hot 97. “But she was on vacation and she wasn’t in town. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ because I had a whole vision about how I want to see Lizzo and everything,” she continued.
Cardi B then went on to explain her decision to include the various women seen in her video. “It was so important to me to include different women that are different races and come from different backgrounds, but are so powerful and influential,” she said.
After releasing the visual for “WAP,” the “Press” rapper expressed her gratitude with social media posts that individually thanked and praised the women who took time out of their schedules to appear in her music video.
In one of the posts, she said she couldn’t wait for Normani to drop her project warning, “She gonna wake Ya up.” In regards to Mulatto, Cardi B said she was “proud” of her grind and encouraged her to “keep killing.”
The “Bodak Yellow” star also praised Rosalia for making “real bad bitch music” with her “dope ass voice,” while telling Sukihana that she is “pretty and ratchet,” and she loves her growth.
As for her collaborator Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi gifted her a Birkin bag after “WAP” hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Cardi previously told Angie Martinez that she is already “plotting her next move” and is preparing to release another single. She is still working on her second studio album.
