Currently, DJ Khaled is getting his fans ready for his forthcoming album Khaled Khaled. Today, he kicks off that campaign with two new singles titled “Greece” and “Popstar,” both of which feature frequent collaborator Drake. Hardcore Drizzy fans will probably remember “Greece” from one of Drake’s IG live session following the release of Dark Lane Demo Tapes — the OZ-produced cut sees Drake essentially offering the world to his significant other:
“Come with me, leave all of your things, yeah, we can stop at Gucci, stop at Louis V, yeah/ Come with me, fly you out to Greece, full speed, survoler Paris/
Speedboats, baby, in Nikki Beach Waves in my ears, smokin’ weed, whippin’ through the sand in a Jeep, all because of what I did on beats, baby/
Life’s sweet, baby, iced out, baby, you just go get ready, we go out, baby, long time lookin’ for the bounce, yeah OZ had the bounce, yeah…/”
“Popstar” is a little more aggressive than its counterpart, with production by DAVID x ELI and OZ allowing Drake room to flex about his successes. Both songs follow a slew of collaborations between Khaled and Drake, including “Fed Up,” “I’m On One,” “No New Friends,” and “For Free.”
Khaled Khaled will mark the twelfth studio LP in DJ Khaled’s expansive catalog, and follows the Platinum-certified Son Of Asahd, which was released last year. The two albums that dropped prior, 2016’s Major Key and 2017’s Grateful, became Khaled’s first two Billboard number one albums, thanks to 96,000 and 149,000 album equivalent units sold, respectively.
During a recent episode of REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” Khaled spoke on his relationship with Drake:
“He loved me so much that he blesses me… When you work with Drake — anybody that works with Drake — nine [times] out of ten, Drake is going to say, ‘Here’s the record.’ And let me tell you, when you work with Drake, that’s what you want.”
Fans can press play on “Greece” and “Popstar” below. Khaled Khaled should hopefully be arriving soon.
