Over the weekend, fans got to press play on Juice WRLD’s posthumous release Legends Never Die, which saw 21 tracks from the late star and appearances from Trippie Redd, Polo G, The Kid Laroi, Halsey, and Marshmello. Today, the Grade A team reveal another beautiful video from the project for “Wishing Well,” which is produced by Dr. Luke and ChopsquadDJ. The track sees Juice WRLD being open about his struggle with drugs, which ultimately and sadly led to his real world demise last December:
“Sometimes I don’t know how to feel, let’s be for real, if it wasn’t for the pills, I wouldn’t be here, but if I keep taking these pills, I won’t be here/
Yeah I just told y’all my secret, yeah It’s tearing me to pieces, I really think I need them, I stopped taking the drugs and now the drugs take me/
This is the part where I tell you I’m fine, but I’m lying, I just don’t want you to worry/
This is the part where I take all my feelings and hide ‘em, ’cause I don’t want nobody to hurt me/”
Courtesy of KDC Visions, fans get to see an animated version of Juice WRLD doing various things, such as acting as his own therapist, displaying his feelings in the form of different emojis, reflecting in the backseat of his convertible, and more. It’s certainly a reminder that Juice’s new music is both right on time and incredibly bittersweet.
According to HitsDailyDouble, Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die is expected to skyrocket to Billboard’s number one spots thanks to a projected 400 to 440 thousand album equivalent units sold the first week. The first week streaming numbers are also said to be on the way to well over 400 million, which would beat out current reigning champ Lil Uzi Vert — March’s Eternal Atake scored 376 million streams within the same time frame.
