Given all of the turmoil that’s currently taking place around the country and beyond, hip hop continues to provide the soundtrack for those in search of hope and positive reinforcement. For his latest, Brooklyn’s own Kai Ca$h contributes via his new single “No Remorse,” which is produced by Flex on the Beat and samples T.O.K.’s 2005 classic “Footprints.” The Dancehall-inspired cut gives the CYN alum the room to self-reflect on his feelings about the the world and his place within it:

“Trapped inside my ways, stuck in my head for a few days, I guarantee I’ll make it up out this b***h/

I been feeling like I’m trapped inside a cage, with all these latches and these chains, it got me deeply bothered by my own s***/

And I’m a man first, got a couple schemes inside my sleeve, whatever plan works, I’m sticking through by all means, I pray that God shine his light down on me/

And keep his angels watching right down on me…/”

Via press release, Kai Ca$h further explained the meaning behind “No Remorse”:

“I want the listeners to paint the picture I’m explaining, to grasp onto these emotions and (hopefully) relate to feeling the same way I feel. I want this to help people that are usually sheltered with themselves to develop a sense of confidence within themselves.”

Last year saw the release of his project Birth In The Borough, which saw 10 tracks and features from Pusha T, K Wales, and Mo Thoro. More recently, he’s blessed the world with impressive loosies like “Tamia,” “We Good” with Mo Thoro and Heather, “Sturdy,” and the infectious “Tank,” which features K Wale and Chris Brown. According to Genius, these and other cuts will belong on the forthcoming project Born To Win.
