Bubba Wallace has landed an official endorsement deal with Beats By Dre. After revealing the partnership yesterday (July 6), the Dr. Dre-helmed audio hardware company suggested that the early announcement was a result of Donald Trump’s tweet, which was aimed at Wallace.
“We weren’t going to announce this until later this week, but hate cannot win the day,” a tweet from Beats By Dre read. “No one should ever be asked to apologize for standing up for what’s right — we are proud to welcome [Bubba Wallace] to the Beats by Dr. Dre family.”
Wallace received congratulations for the deal from the likes of LeBron James, who also supported the NASCAR driver through the garage stall noose investigation.
“Welcome to the BEATS family [Bubba Wallace]!!” James tweeted.
Wallace also responded to Trump’s accusations with an inspiring message on Twitter.
“Your words and actions will always be held to a higher standard than others. You have to be prepared for that,” his note began. “You don’t learn these things in school. You learn them from trials and tribulations, the ups and downs this crazy world provides. You will always have people testing you. Seeing if they can knock you off your pedestal.”
“I encourage you to keep your head held high and walk proudly on the path that you have chosen. Never let anybody tell you can’t do something! God put us all here for a reason. Find that reason and be proud of it and work you tails off every day towards it!”
“All the haters are doing is elevating your voice and platform to much greater heights! Last thing, always deal with the hate being thrown at you with LOVE! Love over hate every day,” he concluded. “Love should come naturally as people are TAUGHT to hate. Even when it’s HATE from the POTUS… Love wins.”
As reported by REVOLT, Trump took to Twitter yesterday (July 6) to call the noose found in Wallace’s stall a hoax and argue against NASCAR’s recent decision to ban the Confederate flag at racing events.
