Back in April, west coast all-stars Buddy and OverDoz. member Kent Jamz joined forces for the light-hearted project Janktape Vol. 1, a perfect blend of hip-hop and R&B that fans can bob their heads and/or light up to. This weekend, they drop a new visual from that release for “Bad Boys,” a track that shows the collaborators wilding out over production from Jason “J.LBS” Pounds:
“I’m nauseous, I lost it, she topless, be cautious, just tried me a brand new substance, I’m wildin’ out in public/
She ridin’, I’m thuggin’, on God, I just gotta keep hustlin’, she married, I’m f***in’, she don’t give a f*** about her husband/
Can’t make this s*** up, I’m slizzered, I got the hiccups, I’m piss drunk, don’t take my picture, got symptoms of blurry vision/
Need OG kush in my system, please don’t you pass me no Swisher, throwin’ up all my liquor, catch second winds, I’m that n***a, n***a…/”
The wacky video comes courtesy of Edgar Esteves and sees Buddy and Kent Jamz reenacting scenes from various shows and movies, including “Beavis & Butthead,” Pulp Fiction, Friday, Step Brothers, and the song’s action-packed namesake.
While Kent Jamz and Overdoz have remained relatively low since the release of 2017’s 2008, Buddy’s been keeping himself busy since the release of his long-awaited debut Harlan & Alondra in 2018. Since then, he’s jumped on a slew of singles alongside the Dreamville camp, appearing on both 2019’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III and this year’s Deluxe upgrade. More recently, he also dropped the official sequel to his single “Black,” delivering at a time with self-love amongst our communities are more needed than ever.
