Today, Trippie Redd unveiled a new collaboration with Juice WRLD titled “Tell Me U Luv Me,” which is produced by oktanner and Nick Mira and sees the two collaborators singing and rapping about love and drugs:
“Heart on my sleeve, ball with it like a throwback, mind in the clouds, I will never ever come back home/
You fightin’ through a text, using all caps, f*** this, screw that, you saying to see you back home/
Well baby girl, I don’t want to do that, it’s true that you the only home I know, without you, all it ever does is snow/
My voice too deep for a average ho, babe, welcome to my world, dark and confusin’ Get lost in it often, the same way I’m lost in you…/”
In addition to the audio release comes a creative visual courtesy of Cole Bennett and Lyrical Lemonade. The clip successfully mixes real footage of the collaborators with animations. Juice WRLD’s girlfriend Ally Lotti also makes a heartfelt appearance, helping to recite her former flame’s lyrics in his unfortunate absence.
True fans of Juice WRLD might remember the late rapper performing the song late last year — prior to his untimely passing in December. The following month, “Tell Me U Luv Me” then materialized on Soundcloud before eventually being taken down due to copyright issues.
Shortly after the Chicago talent’s death, Trippie Redd made it clear that he and his colleagues were done with using illicit drugs:
“If it ain’t weed, we ain’t doing it no more… We look up to all these bigger artists, all these grown-ass men and all they do is talk about poppin’ pills and sippin’ codeine and all that s***… It’s music. Ni***s know what they get they self into but at the same time, it’s like, we gotta be the strongest people to be like, ‘Okay, ni***s is just using this for rhymes at this point.”
