Three months after releasing his third studio album PTSD, G Herbo is teasing fans with his next release. According to the Chicago native, his upcoming mixtape will be a joint effort with Lil Uzi Vert, who’s also been hinting at an Eternal Atake follow-up.
Hopping on Instagram Live on Wednesday (May 20), Herbo revealed that he and Uzi have been sitting on collaborations.
“No lie, me and Vert got some sh*t,” the “By Any Means” rappers announced. “That’ll probably be my next compilation mixtape — me and Uzi sh*t.”
The two artists last teamed up on Herbo’s PTSD title track, alongside Chance the Rapper and Juice WRLD. Speaking with REVOLT, Herbo opened up about what it meant to him to have a posthumous feature from the late rapper.
“It meant everything. You don’t know how hard I fought for the record. It was always a special record,” he explained. “Even before my little brother’s demise, I always knew it was going to be the record. I always knew it was a special record. It’s a blessing and a curse because I hate that it has to be this… final ride in a such [way]. I can’t really make music or even enjoy life with my little brother no more. But, it’s a blessing to be able to celebrate his life on my album. That means so much to me.”
“If you want me to be completely honest, Chicago will probably never see an artist do what Juice did in such a quick time,” he continued. “… It’s sad that it had to come to an end, but that legacy he left upon us is something that will never be seen or done again.”
Uzi only recently dominated the Billboard charts with his Eternal Atake album and its extended version, Eternal Atake (Deluxe) — LUV vs. The World 2. Earlier this month, the Philadelphia native announced his plans to drop yet another project this year. On Twitter, he also informed fans that the album would be sonically reminiscent of “old Uzi music.”
