This year, Biggie was supposed to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, alongside Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, and T-Rex. Unfortunately, the ceremony was postponed due to COVID-19.
“We are very disappointed to announce the postponement of this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,” Hall of Fame President Joel Peresman said in a statement back in March. “Our first concern is to the health and safety of our attendees and artists and we are complying to the direction of the local and state authorities and common sense.”
The ceremony was originally supposed to take place on May 2, but has been rescheduled to Nov. 7 at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium. The festivities will air live on HBO at 8 pm ET.
Biggie will join the likes of other legendary hip hop artists in the Hall of Fame. Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five were the first rap group to be inducted in 2007, followed by Run DMC, the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, N.W.A. and Tupac Shakur.
