As with a few of his peers, it’s been announced that Moneybagg Yo is releasing a Deluxe edition of last January’s Time Served, which originally saw 15 tracks and features from Summer Walker, DaBaby, Future, Lil Baby, and more. This week, he gives the fans a cut from the forthcoming update titled “Me Vs Me,” a proper mantra for any who find themselves saddled by contesting from others:
“Lately I feel like it’s me versus me, don’t see competition why would you compete?/
Don’t even gotta be woke, still gon’ be up, I make a bag in my sleep/
Can’t get the hood outta me, you know where I be, still posted up like I lease/
Trust me them choppers gon’ bang, cavity teeth, you better not think this s*** sweet/”
Prior to Time Served, Moneybagg Yo dropped Reset and 43va Heartless in 2018 and 2019, respectively — both landed within the top five of the Billboard 200 during their first weeks of release. Two of his recent singles, “All Dat” and “U Played,” also saw a significant amount of success on the charts. “All Dat” earned Moneybagg and Megan Thee Stallion a Gold plaque and the 70 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. More recently, he also connected with TM88, Southside, Young Thug, and Future on the hard-hitting “Blue Jean Bandit.”
In related news, Moneybagg Yo has also found himself in the news for his personal relationships. Following his roller coaster situation with Megan Thee Stallion, he’s now back in the tabloids for what might be the end of his relationship with Ari Fletcher, who let off some cryptic tweets earlier this week:
“I can love myself better than any man can. I might have been torn a little but no man has every been able to break me, never will.”
