Fredo Bang is one of the more exciting artists on Def Jam’s roster. That’s why we’re so excited that the Baton Rouge rapper released his Most Hated album today (April 17). After a few delays due to Coronoavirus, the project emerged a few weeks after its original March 27 release date. It includes the tracks “Saucy,” “Trust Issues,” “Waitin’ 4,” and “Yo Slime.”
The 24-year-old rapper has always been open about how his painful past experiences have made him the artist he is today. His last project, 2019’s mixtape Pain Made Me Numb, is a prime example of how hardship, jail time, and life’s challenges paint his content.
In an interview with XXL, he said, “I’m never content on where I’m at. If I buy a car, I plan on buying the next year model. I’ve always been like that in life. I can’t get content on where I’m at because I know how quick it is to get comfortable and lose it all… I had no meaning in life for two-and-a-half years. So I know what it is to be nothing.”
"“I’m very talented and I feel like my music just don’t sound like nobody else’s.”"
With a renewed outlook on life and a promising career that is blooming into greater opportunities, it isn’t surprising that he doesn’t mind being most hated. With a new home at Def Jam, it seems like things are finally looking up for the Louisiana artist. Moreover, the 12-track offering features guests appearances from artists including Lil Baby, YNW Melly, Moneybagg Yo, Tee Grizzley, and others.
The “Oouuh” rapper is as comfortable harmonizing as he is rapping. It seems that music has helped Bang find his self confidence on his road to success. Later in the same interview, he was quoted saying, “I’m very talented and I feel like my music just don’t sound like nobody else’s.”
