Rihanna is covering two special covers for British Vogue’s May 2020 issues and the singer is opening up about working on new music, racism in the world, and becoming a mother in the next 10 years.

If you’re still waiting on R9 to drop, Rih says that it’s coming, but she won’t tell anyone when it will drop. “I can’t say when I’m going to drop,” she says. “But I am very aggressively working on music.”

“I don’t want my albums to feel like themes,” she says. “There are no rules. There’s no format. There’s just good music, and if I feel it, I’m putting it out.”

Most recently Rihanna received a lot of positive feedback for her speech at the NAACP Image Awards, where she called out people who had minority friends, but did not stick up for minority issues. She’s lived in London for the past three years and says that racism is just as bad overseas as it is in America.

“So when I see these injustices happening, it’s hard to turn a blind eye,” she says. “It’s hard to pretend it’s not happening. The things that I refuse to stay silent on, these are things that I genuinely believe in. I think police brutality is probably extremely severe in America, but racism is alive everywhere. Everywhere,” she says. “It’s the same [in the UK]. It’s either blatant, which is becoming more and more of a norm, or it’s underlying, where people don’t even know they’re being obvious about it. You know, it’s just a subconscious layer that’s embedded from their entire core.”

It may seem like Rihanna has it all, but the Anti singer is still has a void in her life. In the next 10 years, she wants to be a mother.

“I know I will want to live differently,” she says. “Ten years? I’ll be 42! I’ll be ancient. I’ll have kids – three or four of ’em.”

The “Kiss It Better” singer also revealed that she plans to have those three to four kids with or without a partner.

“Hell, yeah,” she replied when asked about whether or not she would have kids on her own. “I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong…’ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
