Rich The Kid is back like he never left. On Friday (March 13), the father of one released his third studio album, Boss Man.
The 19-track LP featured guest appearances from DaBaby, Lil Baby, Nicki Minaj and more and serves as the follow-up to his sophomore album, The World Is Yours 2. During a recent interview with Rap-Up, Rich The Kid opened up about his thought process while working on the project.
“When I was working on my album, I was just feeling like I’m the CEO of my own label,” he confessed back in February 2020. “It’s people that tell me what to do, like they can give me their opinion, but it’s not motherf—kers that’s telling me what to do.”
Prior to releasing Boss Man, Rich The Kid dropped off several hits including “Money Talk,” “Go Up” and more recently, “Red.” On the Beat By Jeff-produced track, the Atlanta-based spitter discussed his wealth.
“Red b***h, red hair, she get flown out/ Red bottoms, but ain’t slippers, got her toes out/ Red guts on the Lamb’ when I pull it out/ Money all blue and my b***h all red/ Pour up the red, I’m on the meds/ Her Birkin is red, middle finger to the fed/ B***h, I was broke, then I got rich, did it in real life/ Got a red b***h, let her count the fifties at a red light,” he rapped.
Last week, Rich The Kid sought advice from fans on what artists he should bring with him on his upcoming tour. “Who should I bring on the Boss Man tour?” he asked at the time. After catching wind of the tweet, fans suggested a plethora of artists – Nicki Minaj, NBA Youngboy, Lil Baby and more.
