Currently, Rich The Kid is getting his fans ready for his upcoming album Boss Man. He’s already released a slew of new songs over the past several months, including the Roddy Ricch-assisted “Go Up,” the Quavo-assisted “That’s Tuff,” and — this year — “Money Talk” alongside YoungBoy Never Broke Again. Now, he returns with another cut from the project titled “Red.”
The concept on the Beat By Jeff-produced track is simple — the Atlanta-based artist raps about how much of his wealth is surrounded by the color red, save for actual currency:
“Red b***h, red hair, she get flown out/
Red bottoms, but ain’t slippers, got her toes out/
Red guts on the Lamb’ when I pull it out/
Money all blue and my b***h all red/
Pour up the red, I’m on the meds/
Her Birkin is red, middle finger to the fed/
B***h, I was broke, then I got rich, did it in real life/
Got a red b***h, let her count the fifties at a red light/”
Speaking with Rap-Up, Rich The Kid explained the title choice for his forthcoming album, from which fans can expect “new bangers” among other things:
“When I was working on my album, I was just feeling like I’m the CEO of my own label. It’s people that tell me what to do, like they can give me their opinion, but it’s not motherf***ers that’s telling me what to do.”
He also revealed that Boss Man would be revealed in two parts, with the second installment carrying “more serious” subject matter out of the two. Finally, fans can expect to hear some big collaborations with Lil Baby, Future, DaBaby, Nicki Minaj, and Post Malone.
Before Boss Man officially makes landfall on March 13, fans can press play on “Red” below, which is available on all major streaming platforms.
