MTV’s “Making The Band” is headed back to our television screens.
According to Deadline, Diddy, Christian Combs, Quincy Brown, Justin Combs, and LaurieAnn Gibson are set to be the judges on the show to find world’s next superstars. Open auditions will be held on Feb. 28-29 in Atlanta, Mar. 7-8 in Houston, Mar. 13-14 in Charlotte, and Mar. 21-22 in New York.
Back in July, the music mogul shared the exciting news on Twitter.
“I’ve made my decision… #MakingTheBand is coming back!!! This will be a global talent search, upload your auditions now using #MTBcasting!!” he wrote.
In the video, Diddy thanks Wale and Seth Rogen for supporting the reboot of his show. Diddy also says that at this point in his life, he wants to focus on projects that continue to make him happy and inspire people.
”You can’t recreate happiness, no sleeping in the trophy room,” he states. “You have to be ready to do new things and change the game. What is what I really love to do, man? What would really inspire me right now? And it’s bringing ‘Making the Band’ back. ‘Making the Band’ 2020, I really want to do this. I really think that I would have a good time and I know that I’m going to build the biggest band in the world.”
Diddy was reportedly on the fence about bringing the show back at one time.
“Something so great, you don’t want to mess with it, you just want to leave it alone,” he explained. “Don’t get it twisted, that’s one of the most fun experiences of my life with ‘Making The Band’…I feel that’s my calling in the culture, taking young next talent to the next level.”
The show is set to return later this year. Check out the “Making The Band” casting-call video below.
